Research and Development
The Institute fulfills theoretical and experimental works in the area of urban territory development. Scientifically grounded proposals based on a system analysis with regard to a considered territory characteristics are implemented in documents of territorial planning and urban development zoning. During the last few years 46 R&D works have been carried out by Institute’s specialists.

Development of land-use planning schemes of constituent entities and municipal units of the Russian Federation is focused on the principles of creature of safe and favourable conditions for human life, decrease of an adverse impact of economic and other activities on an environment, as well as protection and rational use of natural resources in the interests of future generation.

Unified document of territorial planning and urban zoning
Unified document of territorial planning and urban zoning – the urban plan of a settlement, municipal or urban district, which combines the provisions on territorial planning, maps of urban zoning, urban planning regulations and the procedure for their application and changes. It provides comprehensive regulation of the use and development of the territory.

Preparation of urban plans and based-on programs for an integrated territory development in order to establish functional zones, determine planned arrangement of federal, regional, and local significance objects, create effective methods for urban planning solutions to ensure a long-term development of municipal units.

Creation of land-use and development rules is necessary to arrange urban development activity and optimize land use in order to increase investment attractiveness and to ensure the most effective land use within the established regulations.

Land planning documentation
Preparation of land planning documentation (planning designs, demarcation plans, and engineering survey materials) is performed to ensure sustainable development of territories including allocation of planning structure elements, establishing of common area boundaries as well as formed and changed land lots, boundaries of areas for planned arrangement of permanent facilities, determination of characteristics and priority of planned territory development.

Scientific and project documentation for preservation of cultural heritage objects and development of historical territories is prepared in order to preserve, use, popularize cultural heritage sites (historical and cultural monuments) of the peoples of the Russian Federation.
