The Russian Geographical Society was established by the highest authority of Nicholas I in 1845. It is one of the oldest geographical societies in the world. Nowadays, the Russian Geographical Society continues to follow the time-honored traditions established by its founders. Geographers, ecologists, geologists, ethnologists, statisticians, photographers, mass-media representatives, travelers and those, eager to learn about Russia and ready to help to preserve its natural riches cooperate with the Society.

Vietnam Institute for Urban and Rural Planning (VIUP)

Vietnam Institute for Urban and Rural Planning (VIUP) is a public service unit under Ministry of Construction which has following functions: organizing scientific research; applying technological advances to serve governmental management in the fields of construction planning including regional planning, urban planning, rural development planning, technical and environmental infrastructure, urban design, landscape architectural space (shortly construction planning); responsing to climate change, heritage conservation planning; organizing training courses, enhancing the quality of cadres, co-operating with foreign countries and propagating information on technological science; doing consultative activities; technical services, production and business in the fields of construction, architecture.

Administration of Kingisepp district, the Leningrad Region, Russia

Kingisepp municipal district is located in the south-west of the Leningrad Region. The geographical and historical position of the region is unique: it has sea and land border with of near and far abroad countries being one of the “windows to Europe”. NII PG has close and fruitful cooperation with both the Administration and the investors of Kingisepp district.

Administration of the Nadym region, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Russia

The Nadym region is located in the north of the the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. Like many other cities of the Western Siberia, Nadym appeared in the 30s of the 20th century on the wave of underground development, namely the development of the Medvezhie natural gas field. NII PG developed general layouts of the city starting from 1979 as well as the current general layout of Nadym.

Government of the Altai, Russia

The Altai is located in the south-east of the Western Siberia; it borders with the Republic of Kazakhstan at the south-west. The Institute has close cooperation with the Administration of the Altai. The territorial planning scheme of the Altai and R&D work in the field of strategic planning of the Barnaul agglomeration were completed by NII PG.

Administration of the Komi Republic, Russia

The Komi Republic is located in the north-east of the European part of Russia where a large part of the territory is occupied by the Timan-Pechora oil and gas province and the large Pechora coal basin, as well as three fields of combustible shale. The volume of reserves and mining of combustible minerals in the republic characterize it as the main fuel base of the European North of Russia, which makes it important for the Russian economy. NII PG has a long-term cooperation with the Administration of the Komi Republic for which the regional standards of urban development and the territorial planning scheme were fulfilled.

Administration of the Volkhov municipal district, the Leningrad Region, Russia

Volkhov city municipal district is located in 120 km east to Saint Petersburg; it is the administrative center of the Volkhov municipal district. The city is one of the largest railway hubs in the region; it is the industrial, administrative, and cultural center of the Volkhov municipal district. One of the oldest operating hydropower plants in Russia is located in the center of the city – the Volkhov hydroelectric power station. The team of the Scientific Research Institute of Perspective Urban Development has designed the general layout and the land use and development rules for the Volkhov city municipal entity and for a part of the municipal entity of the Volkhov municipal district. The aim of the project development is to create an effective tool for management of territory development of the Volkhov city municipal entity in accordance with the current federal and regional legislation, to ensure sustainable development of the territory, to create favourable living conditions for the population based on combination of environmental, economic, social, and other factors.
