On September 17, an architectural and urban planning conference was held in Sochi. Leading architects of the country discussed urban planning policy in Sochi.
Irina Egorovna Grishechkina, Deputy Director for Design Works, Chief Architect of the Institute, Honorary Architect of the Russian Federation, member of the Union of Architects of Russia, took part in the conference on behalf of NII PG. Moreover, Irina Yegorovna is the project manager for the new master plan for Sochi. She told about the preparation of the new master plan.
For 12 years since the adoption of the current master plan, the territory of the resort has changed dramatically. The number of permanent residents has also grown significantly. Officially, about half a million people live in Sochi, but experts say the numbers are up to 700 thousand residents. Preparations for the development of the master plan are being carried out in parallel with the large-scale work on the strategy for the economic development of the resort until 2030.
In the near future, we will launch a website dedicated to the development of a new general plan for Sochi with surveys for residents and guests in order to assess the quality of the urban environment. Follow the news!
