The 7th Eastern Economic Forum 2022 took place on 5–8 September 2022 in Vladivostok on the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) campus.
The Eastern Economic Forum is a key international platform for establishing and strengthening ties within the Russian and global investment communities, and for comprehensive expert evaluation of the economic potential of the Russian Far East, the investment opportunities it offers, and business conditions within advanced special economic zones.
The Eastern Economic Forum was established by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2015 to support the economic development of Russia’s Far East and to expand international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
It displays the main educational, cultural and sports facilities, industrial and recreational areas, as well as transport networks of the future city. Also you can see in detail how the administrative and business center of the new city and the embankment will look like.
Events at the Forum traditionally took place in the form of panel sessions, roundtables, televised debates, business breakfasts, and business dialogues devoted to Russia’s relationships with various countries.
The Forum business programme includes a number of business dialogues with leading partner countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and with ASEAN, a key integration organization uniting dynamically developing nations in Southeast Asia.
On September 6, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev and Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov reported to Vladimir Putin on the current socio-economic situation in the Far Eastern Federal District and major projects. Alexey Chekunkov also told about new satellite city of Vladivostok, a project aimed at creating a new quality of life: “Here we are designing a new suburb. By Far Eastern standards, it will be a city for 93 thousand people. We have only 12 cities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants throughout the Far East. The new city is being designed by a company from St. Petersburg - Research Institute of Perspective Urban Development".
