On March 19, 2025, the St. Petersburg Union of Architects hosted the first meeting of the Council for Urban Development of the Leningrad Region this year. The participants discussed key achievements and outlined areas for further activities.
The meeting was moderated by Sergey Lutchenko, Chief Architect of the Leningrad Region. During the meeting, he announced the expansion of the Council's powers to the entire Northwestern Federal District, which will allow taking into account the specifics of the territorial development not only of the Leningrad Region, but also of neighboring regions, creating unified approaches to urban planning.
Pavel Spirin presented the urban planning section and made a report on changes to the Code of Rules of SP 42.13330.2016 "Urban Planning. Planning and building of urban and rural settlements". In his speech, he noted the key adjustments of the document and their impact on the design of territories.
Margarita Perkova, Doctor of Architecture, Director of the Higher School of Design and Architecture of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, spoke in a section dedicated to education in architecture, design and urban planning.
