From November 4 to 6, 2025, the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Complex in Moscow hosted the autumn's premier event for architects and urban planners: International Zodchestvo Festival
The festival is held with the support of the Administration of the President of Russian Federation, the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Government, the International Union of Architects, the International Academy of Architecture, the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, public organizations and business communities of Russia.
This year's festival was impressive: 16 regions of the country presented their exhibits, and over 600 projects and buildings participated in the competition program. In addition the exhibition featured works by architects from China, Brazil, and Cuba.
The Leningrad Region pavilion was a particular highlight of the exhibition space. The region presented an exhibit covering over 80 square meters, dedicated to the comprehensive modernization concept of the "Road of Life," developed following a nationwide student competition. The central element was a memorial dedicated to those who perished on Lake Ladoga.
NII PG representatives participated in open discussions.
At the round table "Support Centers of the Leningrad Region: Gatchina — Innovative Capital of Leningrad Oblast, Kingisepp — Industrial and Logistics Cluster", experts discussed the region's sustainable development strategies.
Pavel Spirin, NII PG Director, presented results of the Gatchina District territorial planning document. The study identified key development directions: strengthening Gatchina's administrative status, creating an innovation cluster, developing transport and logistics infrastructure, boosting the agro-industrial complex, and stimulating tourism.
"Gatchina is one of the largest tourist centers due to its historical heritage and natural attractions. Our goal is to create a tourist system offering a wide range of recreation opportunities. Special attention will be paid to developing sanatorium-resort tourism, forming recreational zones, and increasing the territory's attractiveness for tourists," noted Spirin.
RAACS organized a round table "Space Transformation: Innovative Approaches and Practices in Territorial Planning".
RAACS academician Pavel Spirin told about the development of Bishkek's urban plan noted that document's goal is to form a polycentric urban space model with normative accessibility to key facilities.
