The master plan of the resort city of Sochi was recognized as the best urban development project according to the results of the competition of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAACS) for the best scientific and creative works for 2024. The authors of the project were awarded the highest award of RAACS - a gold medal and diplomas.
The award ceremony took place on April 25, 2025 in Moscow, in the Central House of Architects as part of the annual general meeting of RAACS members. Representatives of the professional community gathered at the event to discuss important issues of urban development and architecture and congratulate the winners. RAACS President Dmitry Shvidkovsky personally congratulated the laureates and presented them with medals and diplomas.
The author of the Sochi master plan, Pavel Spirin emphasized the importance of the document and thanked his colleagues who participated in the development of the project. Congratulations to the team of authors: P. Spirin, I. Grishechkina, D. Morozov, A. Bocharova, V. Zykina and everyone involved in the project on a well-deserved victory! The main urban development document of Sochi was approved on December 27, 2023, after being agreed upon with all regional and federal departments.
The masterplan defines the main directions of sustainable development of the resort city until 2044.
