On April 29, 2025, the All-Russian practical symposium "Russian Heritage. Contemporaries: Architecture, Urban Development, and Urban Development" was held at the Official Residence of the President of Russia, the State Complex "PALACE OF CONGRESSES". The Symposium was attended by chief architects of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, heads of specialized bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and municipalities, practicing architects, designers, urban planners and heads of development companies, as well as domestic manufacturers of building materials and structures. As part of the business program, experts discussed current issues of forming a unified approach to development and assessment in master planning, development of cottage villages, improvement of the territories of small towns and rural settlements, and also summed up the results of the architectural competition "The idea of block development in the village of Novosaratovka, Vsevolozhsk district, Leningrad region". 
NII PG Director Pavel Spirin reported about the experience in preparing a master plan using the example of the urban district of Surgut. 
"The master plan document defines priorities, goals, objectives, measures and mechanisms for the long-term dynamic development of the economy and social sphere of the city of Surgut. Thanks to the scientific approach, we formed a vision of the strategic development of the city, flagship projects, and also outlined the mechanisms for implementing the Strategy for the socio-economic development of the municipality of the city of Surgut for the period up to 2036 with target guidelines up to 2050," Pavel Spirin noted. 
Head of the Department of Urban Development Economics Olga Druzina shared her experience in developing an industry master plan for a tourism and recreation zone using the example of a special economic zone in the Republic of Dagestan. According to her, Dagestan has great recreational potential, which has remained untapped for a long time. The master plan is aimed at creating a comprehensive infrastructure with an emphasis on cultural identity and health improvement; the document takes into account global practices for the formation of attractive clusters, which will make the resort iconic and capable of attracting attention to the region as an important tourist destination in Russia.
