The project was approved by Decree of the Leningrad Region Government of January 17, 2024 No. 25.
The solutions of the master plan were developed to strengthen the status of the city as one of the main tourist centers of the Leningrad region.
The city is a historical settlement in the Leningrad region and a promising tourism center in the north-west of Russia. The unique, well-preserved Ivangorod fortress, the historical Parusinka microdistrict, and a complex of preserved historical buildings formed the basis for the city’s tourist bicycle and pedestrian routes proposed by the master plan. The architectural ensembles are connected by a system of public spaces, embankments and related trade and public catering facilities. The historical compositional and species connections (panoramas) of the Narva River valley and the silhouettes of the adjacent buildings have been preserved.
At the same time, attention is paid to the development of a complex of social, engineering and transport infrastructure of the city as a potential point of growth, along with the city of Kingisepp, in the logic of the development of a “small agglomeration” with built-in sustainable socio-economic and transport connections of the Kingisepp municipal district.
The main goals of the socio-economic development of the Ivangorod:
- improvement of the development efficiency of historical settlement territory in order to form a favorable territory image and increase domestic and inbound tourist flows;
- expansion of economic activities through the creation of new environmentally friendly and innovative enterprises;
- diversification of the economy;
