At a meeting of the Samara Region Government, NII PG Director, RAACS Academician Pavel Spirin, Chief Architect of the Institute Irina Grishechkina, and Deputy Director for Urban Development Economics Olga Aleksandrovna Druzina presented a detailed analysis of Samara's urban development potential. The discussion was attended by representatives of the regional government, the Samara Urban District Administration, and Vitaly Shabalatov, First Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Samara Region Government.
NII PG is conducting extensive data collection and analysis to prepare Samara’s Unified Document for Territorial Planning and Urban Zoning of the Urban District. The study assesses the population size and structure, the status and ownership of land plots, the availability of social infrastructure, the condition of green spaces, the street and road network, transport accessibility, and daily population migration.
The results will form the basis for the Unified Document, which will help formulate a modern urban development policy for the urban district.
In April, NII PG will present a spatial development concept, including design solutions for the development of the regional center and proposals for addressing identified issues.
"Samara is the core of Russia's third-largest agglomeration, and the Unified Document will create a holistic spatial structure for the city, optimize land use, and foster investment, transport, and infrastructure development, taking into account environmental priorities," noted Pavel Spirin.
