Key Meeting of the Architecture and Urban Planning Council of Leningrad Region

17.03.2026

March 16, 2026, a regular meeting of the Council for Architecture and Urban Planning of the Leningrad Region and the Northwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation took place in St. Petersburg at the House of Architects. The event brought together leading regional specialists and became an important platform for summing up results and outlining new development prospects.

The central event of the meeting was the presentation of a special issue of the magazine “Architectural Petersburg” dedicated to the Leningrad Region.

Pavel Spirin, NII PG Director, RAACS Academician, and Head of the Urban Planning Section of the Council, emphasized: “The release of the first issue of ‘Architectural Petersburg’ in 2026 holds exceptional importance for the entire architectural community of the region. This special issue not only records the high level of projects implemented in 2025, but also serves as an indicator of the strategic direction for further development, including focused work on the prospective development of the regional capital — Gatchina. We are proud to note that the Leningrad Region has become a true generator of innovative and fresh architectural solutions, which confirms its leading role in the architectural community.”

During the meeting, a ceremonial presentation of diplomas was also held for the winners of architectural competitions organized by the Committee for Urban Planning Policy of the Leningrad Region.

In addition, participants were informed about the launch of new competitions aimed at searching for innovative ideas, improving the urban environment of the region.
